The problem it fixes
A deleted product or renamed collection leaves dead links, and nothing tells you. You hear from a customer, or never.
- 01
Missing pages are listed, with the reason
Each address that was live and now is not shows up as deleted, address changed, or unpublished or archived, so you know what happened without opening each page.
A daily check of your product, collection, page and blog addresses against Shopify's own data.
- 02
A lost page is one click from fixed
Each lost page comes with a suggested place to send visitors, already selected. Accept it, change it, or ignore the page. Nothing is redirected until you click.
Create redirect, with a suggested target you can change; the app's only write to your store.
- 03
Dead links inside your content are found
Links in product descriptions, pages and blog posts are checked about once a week, including links to other websites, and the broken ones are listed with where they sit.
A link scan of up to 2,000 links; sites that refuse automated checks are marked could not check, not broken.
- 04
One email, only when something is new
You get at most one email a day, and none on a quiet day. A problem is emailed once. If one fixes itself, the next daily email says so in one line.
A daily digest to the address you choose, with a one-line fixed note for problems already emailed.
- 05
A heavier page or a new script is noticed
About once a day the app loads your home page, a product page, a collection page and the cart page from outside and sizes their scripts. It tells you about a new one, or a page that got much heavier.
Script check: sizes in KB per app or company, public pages only; it reports size, not load time.
How the broken link checker works
- 1
Choose who gets the email
In Settings, type the address for the email and pick the hour of the daily check. The app never fills the address in for you.
- 2
The first check saves a baseline
It records the addresses that exist today. A page can only be lost after the app has seen it live, so the first day shows no lost pages.
- 3
Lost pages appear in the app
Each check lists what went missing and why, with a suggested redirect. Create it, change the target, or ignore the page.
- 4
Hear about new problems by email
One daily email, only when something new turned up. Links are rechecked every week or every two weeks as you choose, or never.
What it watches for you
Product, collection, page and blog addresses
Read from your Shopify admin each day, not by loading pages. A product counts as live only when it is active and published to your Online Store.
Links inside your content
Product descriptions, pages and blog posts. Links to your own store are judged from the saved list and your redirects. Links to other sites are fetched slowly, one second apart per site.
Whether a redirect already covers the address
A removed page is only listed if nothing redirects it, including redirects you made yourself. If you delete that redirect later, the page is listed again.
Scripts on four public pages
Home, one product, one collection and the cart page, loaded from outside. Checkout is not watched, and a password-protected store shows a notice instead of numbers.

Is it for you?
Tell me when a page or link on my store stops working, so I can fix it before customers or search engines find it.
A good fit if
- Stores that rename, delete or unpublish products and collections now and then.
- Owners with years of blog posts and product descriptions full of links.
- Anyone who has found out about a dead page from a customer.
Not the right app if
- Stores that need alerts when the site is down or slow. The app measures neither.
- Stores without the Online Store sales channel; the check needs it.
- Stores with more than 5,000 page addresses; the daily check refuses them.
Why not do it by hand
By hand you would open every product, page and link to find the dead ones, and you would have to remember to do it again. Store Monitor keeps a list of what was live, notices what dropped out, and sends one short email. It checks Shopify's own data, so it works while the store is password protected.
Why it will be worth paying for
A paid plan is planned for the time it would save on larger stores, such as fixing renamed pages without a click. Free stays, and it covers the checks described on this page.

Questions before you install
Why does a monitoring app need permission to write to my store?
The write permission is for one thing: creating a URL redirect when you click Create redirect, or Create suggested redirects for up to 50 lost pages at once. The app never changes products, pages, themes or settings, and it creates no redirect on its own. The other permissions only read.
Will the broken link checker flag pages that are fine, or call a working link broken?
It aims not to. Lost pages come from Shopify's own state, so a page is listed only if it was live and is not now. Links on sites that block automated checks, and any connection failure, are marked could not check, not broken. A partial or failed read never turns into lost pages.
What does it read, and does it see my customers?
It reads product, collection, page and blog addresses, the text of links inside your content, and your redirects. It does not read customers or orders. It keeps addresses and links, not page text. The script check loads only public pages.
